Red face Electrical problems with G16 gas cart

Greetings, I have a 1996 G16 lifted gas cart with electrical issues. Starts up fine, but when I turn the key to the off position, it keeps running. I've checked all the fuses and connections. I even swapped out the solinoid and rectifier with my brother's G16, and the same results. Any ideas?? Thanks

Check 2 wire plug in center of cart under seat, blue and black wire. Make sure that connection is good. Check ground at coil behind fan shroud. A wire is disconnected somewhere.

Like TN said check those wires. Rectifier, did you mean the voltage regulator? I have also seen accelerator cables "so tight" that the throttle shaft was not closeing causing the engine to keep running.

Thanks for the advice. Yes I meant to say voltage regulator. I was thinking perhaps there's a ground wire that could be disconected somewhere. I didn't think about the coil, but I'll check. I guess I'll get a wire diagram from somewhere and I'll go from circuit to circuit. I forgot to mention that I did use jumper wire to isolate and check the ignition switch, but it didn't make a difference.
