Default GXT 804D accessory harness Mystery wire

I have a 1997 GXT 804d. When I got it the wiring was a mess. Using a manual and schematics, I have the wiring straightened out, headlights, turn signals tail lights all working as they should.
I have checked every manual I could get my hands on and searched many different forums. I have one heavier gauge gray wire from the factory accessory harness, and I do not know its purpose. Does anyone have an idea?

I have that same wire in my GXT-800. When I toned it out, it appears to split into two gray wires of thinner gauge under the front of the cowl...
