Hey Friends,

I'm looking for a rear end for a Cushman UTV Max. Anyone out there know where I can find one?

Im looking for the same, I would like to buy a whole parts cart if I can find one..
If you dont find parts and decide to sell I maybe interested.

Do you know who makes the rear end?

I need a 14hp Briggs Vanguard air cleaner lid, 5 lug drum, driver side brake backing plate, drivers side axle.

Guess I'm not the only one! When I rescued I got mine, the reverse barely worked - would not engage fully or hold - clunk clunk if you held the shiftier lever back. The shift shaft into the axle was loose going into the axle, like the bushing was worn out. I suffered along with this until it just would not work any more.

Finding an axle for the UTV Max or Cushman Hawk has been fruitless for the last 2 years. But in looking for one, I have discovered that the Cushman axles are problematic.

So a couple weeks ago I finally came across an EZGO gas axle. Here what I have found to be the differences between the two so far;
  • The axle length is comparable
  • For mine, they are both 4 lug
  • The driven CVT is the same diameter and looks to use the same belt
  • Big, obvious issue - switching the EZGO axle to Hydraulic brakes
  • Mounting brackets - fabrication needed
  • Some modification for the shiftier linkage, but it does look like the cable should be long enough to not be too much of an issue

I give you more info shortly

Gary dee thanks for posting, nice! Hawk. keep us updated.

Do you know where I can find the numbers on the orignal hawk axle? What is the manufacture name of the axle?

I know you got a Ezgo gas axle to install but is your cart gas or electric?

My gas hawk is 5 lug.

Hey guy's, I bought a electric 89 parts hawk and the rear axle is in really good shape. I'm trying to figure if any parts on it will do me any good but the gas and electric are so different not many parts will not interchange.

If i can't find a way to use it I'll sell or trade for Hawk, club car or powerking
parts.

I live in Huntsvjlle area in N. AL.

Take a look at this link:

I see that there's a link to what looks to be a axle catalog. When I pull my axle out, I'll let you know if I find some type of model number on it.

Mine is a 1997 hawk same as everybody else broken left axle. I have a complete parts manual and the axle part number is 700527 . I haven't found one yet. Local golf cart place says he can get one $350.00. I'll probably do the ezgo transplant first . Anybody know what years fit closest?

I have a Hawk 79xxx series with a relatively new 16 hp briggs engine. It runs and operates fine but needs brakes. Do I need to worried about the left axel? It shifts to neutral when coasting down a slope making a noticeable whining noise.. Does this sound like a problem or is the noise normal? Words of advice for the noise and brakes are welcome.
