There's one or two yamaha mechanics that work on these from time to time that might chime in. The majority of us have the carb versions so were not much help. If these efi carts are like efi atvs which I'm familiar with the only way to get around the speed limiter is with a programmer or a new cdi box that has the limiter removed. I'm unfamiliar with the efi carts though. Hopefully small block will chime in.

Govenor adjustment on an EFI car is no differant then any other Yamaha. Take off the srvice panel(below the sweater basket), on the top of the transaxle you'll find the govenor lever. There is a threaded rod, turn in the 10mm nut till you reach the desired speed you want.

I just reached in engine bay and put a zip tie on gov. The seller told me to remove before any warranty work . Takes a minute to put on and speed will go to about 19mph. stock mine topped out at 12. Mine is a 2013 efi

Good news that its just as easy as the carb models. I knew small block would chime on.

With the governor turned all the way up no more threads left it doesn't miss a beat. I've added 8 to one gears and the power spring for the rear clutch and 205 50 10 tires and we get 30-35 out of them at work the efi's are great

Thanks for the replies, is there anything I need to do after that? This won't mess up the engine will it?
