Default Cart not starting as easily as before

My 92 cart used to start very easily. When I press the accelerator of late, the cart does not start as easily as previously. It some times needs a second or third attempt before the engine takes. Any reasons for this. It does this even when the engine is warm.

Your not getting many responses because it could be a number of things...
~an older battery that's not recharging well,
~a worn slipping S/G belt,
~worn S/G brushes,
~dirty carburetor... etc.

Try to get a little more detailed with the symptom,
A few examples:
~You have to push the GO pedal a number of times just to get the engine to turn over. (Possible low battery)
~The engine won't turn over, but you can hear the S/G belt squeaking (possible worn belt)
~The engine turns over, but won't start. (possible dirty carb)

Thanks so much. Come to think of it there was the odd squeak, not many though.

Interesting thread. Mine does the same thing sometimes. Not sure if the starter belt slips or it's a dirty Carb. Hard to look at it with the seat up and the thing starting when I'm looking at it. Then it goes perfectly for awhile.
Also how often do you need a drive belt? Mine is less than a year old and slipping already.

Valves may need to be adjusted. If there is not enough clearance the engine won't have as much suction to pull air and fuel through the carb. I would also check or just change the plug.
