How to tell what speed code is currently programmed?
I have a 2010 Precedent and was wondering if there was a way to tell, without a programmer, what speed code the cart is currently running?
Thanks! |

If it runs 19 MPH its code 4, runs 15 MPH- code 3- 8mph code 2 and I think code 1 is 6 mph, but never tried that one

I have the answer for speed code 4. If it has code 4 programmed it will have a sticker like this with the codes on it. It should be in the glove compartment.

Re: How to tell what speed code is currently programmed?
Great question. I am learning this as well. My neighbors and I bought (6) 2008.5 Club Car Precedents. They ranged in speed from 8mph to 13, with 2 being at 11. Multiple factors can go into using speed alone as the determining factor of the speed code, such as alignment, tire size, etc. When we aligned the front tires on one of the carts, it went from 11mph previously to 13. A lot more advanced (which I am trying to learn), but I've been reading that you can connect to the controller with a handheld curtis programmer or a laptop with curtis software and check the speed code as well.

Found a local dealer that will program it for $75. I might give them a try. I'm pretty sure I don't have the speed code 4

Re: How to tell what speed code is currently programmed?
While that's not a bad price for SC4 it will still limit your speed to about 19 MPH whereas if your cart has the right serial number (post the first 6 digits) you may be able to do a speed magnet which is much cheaper still and will let your cart run as fast as it is capable of running, and does not need to be brought to a dealer/tech to perform..
