Default Identification and charger help

I just bought a buggie for really cheap because the batteries are dead and the charger doesn't work. I have never seen one like this. It has an F-N-R switch (forward, neutral, reverse). What is neutral for?
serial # 593193
manufactor # F 1290

Is this a 1990 TXT?

The charger is a Total Charge LR 69689. I jumped a crossed the timer board and it started up. Does this charger require a certian number of volts to start? (Like my powerwise).

Thanks.

It is a TXT and was manufactured December 12, 1990.
The 36v charger needs about 28v to start.
Neutral is halfway between F and R and is a nice additional safety. It's a good place to leave the selector so there are no surprises when you turn the key.

Your cart is a Marathon. The first TXT was the Medalist. I hope this helps.

Thanks guys. Mine is a TXT. this one is for my dad. What is the difference between the TXT and Marathon?

How do I tell if I have a total charge II or not. The replacement card info says "'For all Total charge models except Total Charge II "
This is what is on the charger:
Total Charge 2-20-90
Listed 20L4
LR 69689
Model 20484
Serial # 113557

Thanks.

I have searched and searched and can not find out how to tell if the charger is a total charge I, II or III . I guess I wil buy the timer board and hope.

As far as the buggies goes, what makes the Marathon different?

Thanks for the help. This is for my dads Birthday, I have 12 days

Thanks for the link.
Does the Marathon cart have a series motor? I think it does, but I want to make sure.
