over charging

Just got the new D&D high torque motor and controller going. Put the charger on and after one hour volt meter read 60 volts. unplugged and waited overnight and and batteries are down to 50.4 volts. Put charger back on and volts started running up over 54volts very quickly. Does the OBC have to be reset? Also I have to disconnect the main negative to get the charger to work.If I don't disconnect the negative terminal the charger needle bounces back and forth.Any suggestions.

Did the charger work properly before the upgrade?
The charger cut off voltage is between 58+63 Volts. A fully charged and settled pack is 50.9 volts.

yes did things work before? and what all cables did you mess with......................

Yes the charger did work properly before changing controller,solenoid,all larger cables and high torque motor.

How is the cable run from the main- to the controller? Through the obc? Around the obc?

The negative cable runs through the OBC

If you are sure all the wires for the OBC are connected and all of the in-line fuses are good, you could try the OBC bypass?
I'm just not sure what the rapid on/off cycling means for your charger?
Likely somebody who knows more (Tahoe Dawg) will chime in soon.

i would at least try the OBC reset you never know but there certainly is an issue you shouldn,t have to take the cable off for charger to work, have you retraced all your work to make certain? if it all worked before hand than it has to be in something that was done and its really easy to make a mistake.......have you tried running a jumper wire from grey wire at fuse holder to the neg terminal of #6 battery? try that and leave battery cable connected see if charger comes on if so its OBC issue............................
