I'm not familiar with the 48V OEM motors used in Yamaha carts, but I do know 36V systems draw more amps and that taking out a motor can take out a controller.

That yamaha won't work well at all at 36v, don't do it, too much risk. If you even pressed the pedal halfway to the floor , the controller will shut down until the tow/run switch is reset.

And thanks for that info CG. Everything I have been able to uncover about the subject leads to nothing but bad news. Don't know why anybody would want to or try to run a 48v at 36.

This topic came up in the Electric Cart Section Melex yesterday.
