Re: Major arc at solenoid connection. Did I damage anything?
You can see the "bundle" that it feeds into. That bundle ends up going under the cart and up front. I just didn't have time to take it apart to find out exactly.

If you can't identify all those wires try this...... locate the Charger + (typically 8g white) and Solenoid cable. connect these 2 to the battery main +. Locate the charger - (typically 8g black) and the controller B- cable. connect these 2 to the Battery main -. There should be no or minimal spark upon connection. If you get a big spark (Welding) then you have your + and - mixed up and we need more pics of the solenoid and control. Then sort out whatever is left over, lights, meter? |

Re: Major arc at solenoid connection. Did I damage anything?
Hey Scotty,
I followed that green wire and the bundle that it goes into runs all the way to the front of the cart and carries wires for the horn and an accessory plug under the dash. Nothing is connected at the terminal plug whoever. Does this shed any light on the issue? The only other thing I realized was that the charger ends were laying on the frame unprotected. oops. But I figure if that was that issue then I would've seen a spark at that point too. Don't you think?? Man, your help is greatly appreciated. I have another solenoid I'd like to try but would like to have this issue figured out before. Does any of what I've said shine a light on a potential problem? |

Follow my direction above. connect just the cart main + and -. Any sparks? no. connect the charger leads, any sparks? no, connect some of the other wires - or just touch them to the terminal you think they went on.....any sparks? no, continue connecting stuff.
