Yes, wiring is the same, except that the A2 terminal and cable from it to the "C" terminal on the F/R doesn't exist. |

Re: 2001 Ezgo series solenoid
Yes, your cart simply will not have the F&R to A2 control cable. Likely you just transposed the location of F&R cables at 9 oclock and 3 oclock to reverse direction.

Re: 2001 Ezgo series solenoid
Thanks
I will check to see if it is marked on the switch but how do you know A,B,C & D locations on the FNR switch and the rotation CW or CCW looking from the wire side or the micro switch side? |

Re: 2001 Ezgo series solenoid
Viewing from the side that has the cable studs:
C = 12 O'Clock D = 3 O'Clock A = 6 O'Clock B = 9 O'Clock |

Re: 2001 Ezgo series solenoid
On my series cart "C" is the 9 o'clock position looking at it from the back of the cart toward the dash. Or should I say A2 on the controller was wired to that position on the F/W switch. That was the factory solution in 2000. I know this because I'm the only owner of the cart.

Re: 2001 Ezgo series solenoid
I don't usually put them back on when I replace a solenoid. I've never had one return even years later for that reason. It's more of an opinion thing amongst techs.

Re: 2001 Ezgo series solenoid
Ok checked wiring installed the diode and resistor, took the cart around the (200ft) yard and the third time around it stopped. Put the charger back on and the batteries check at 36.1v. The problem is this: without the battery charger on the cart will not move and not only the battery charger has to be on but the other wire which is the voltage (sensor?) or it will not run and the FNR alarm is wrong also. What happened this time?

Re: 2001 Ezgo series solenoid
Sounds to me like dead batteries. 3 times around the yard means the cart runs. It just won't run for long.
Attach a meter to the pack and tell us how far down the pack voltage drops when you try to go (solenoid clicks) |

Re: 2001 Ezgo series solenoid
OK if your going to be stupid you have to be tough. This is what I found: it is not the charger running but the fact that the charging connections most be in place. Ran the cart(without charger) around the same area 3/4 times and the running V is about 30 after I stopped the v is about 35.5 on the meter started with 36.1. Do I have a battery issue?
