Default alltrac 400 amp

I got a call yesterday from one of my cart buddy . he called me and said that his cart started smoking when he pushes the gas pedal . well when I get there the cart was dead and the controller was smoking/burn up . every thing else works on his cart. you can turn the key on and hit the pedal and hear the solenoid clicking . do u think it may have messed with anything else do you think he can just buy a new controller on it and it would work . or what do u think made this controller burn up/ melted .what do we need to check for

Check the motor for unwanted continuity and check motor wires for shorts against the frame or ? This is a good place to start looking.
More history may help too. What size tires? What type driving? Go Fast Shunt installed?

The motor should have continuity between two A posts or two S(F) posts but NOT between any A and any S(F) post.
