I just talked with Vic at d&d, and he shot me down pretty hard. Said he didn't have anything to sustain that speed, citing liability. Did you guys get the same response?

That sounds about right. D&D is pretty adamant about the liability of making a cart go more than 25 mph.
Shoot me an email.

Considering D&D is located in Syracuse, NY and are exposed to the liability laws and judicial system of the State of New York, I find it remarkable they admit to manufacturing motors that will propel a golf cart over the speed published by the cart's manufacturer.

So I ended up with the d&d Es 76-51 and hooked it up last night. I've seen a loss of speed vs the stock motor, an increase in acceleration and maybe a bit more torque. I'm topping out around 24-25, where I was running 27 before. I was hoping to be in the 27-29 range, but would have been happy with the same speed with better torque.

Any ideas on why I'm seeing losses? Any ideas on how to regain a few mph?

What field map are you running?

If possible, post a screenshot.

I'm running the one Scotty sent me, I believe it is field map 4 but I'm not positive.

Field map #4 is for a DCX controller feeding a stock PDS motor and the one used when a DCX is feeding a ES-76-51 motor.
With a XCT controller, the map for PDS and DCS motors is designated as EZPDS. (See attached)
The XCT has one specifically for a ES-75-51 motor and it displays ES7651.

When I switched from a DCX500 to a XCT400 with a ES-76-51 motor, I lost a couple MPH, but the XCT came with EZPDS loaded and when I installed the map specifically written for a ES-76-51, I was back up to the speed I had with the DCX500, or very close to it.

The OP cart is identical to your cart Johnnie with 2 exceptions, I believe.
Larger tire and 400XCT control. The control size will not effect top speed with this size tires.

Ok, got it set up. I still had it on the ezpds setting, and now switched it over to the es76-51. I have no idea how to post a picture on here, but max regen is set at 75a, plug braking at 250a, max reverse at 65%, speed limit at 6500rpm and clearly reads es76-51 on the field map loaded.

It's pouring rain here now, but I will test run when it clears up. Thanks guys
