Default DC Voltage Reducer or?

Scotty was kind enough to send me a diagram of how to hook up a DC voltage reducer and accessories off of it, wich is great. but I go to look at how they have it wired up now (head lights , tail lights, light switch , key switch) and i see no voltage reducer. Am I missing something?

If there isn't reducer on your cart, the lights are most likely powered by only 2 batteries and controlled by the light switch. The key switch would not be involved.

Now your accessories are pulling 12v from the #3 and 4. It works but unfortunately this extra draw on these 2 batteries creates an imbalance in the pack and shortens the life of the whole pack.
A power reducer will draw equally off of all the batteries.

Yea, if you don't drive at night very often, you probably don't need one. (Especially if you have LED lights) But if you like to drive at night or have a stereo or winch, it's highly recommended.

Reminds of a neighbor kid when I was in high school. His father owned a cycle shop and the kid would race in motocross. One time when he related details of his last race, I said "Gee, that must be hard on the brakes". He smiled and said "Only if you use them".
