Default ITS question

Can the Its cause cart to speed up and slow down when you are holding peddle in one place ??? Mine just acts like it want to go and then slow down. Not much, just enough that you can tell something it not right.

Thanks all
Sonny

If a ITS sensor gets moisture in it, it can do most anything.

It appears to be a sealed unit, but the potting compound shrinks with age and a hairline crack can develop along the edge of the circuit board, allowing moisture to get in.

Here are a couple pictures of what is inside as well as a block diagram and schematic.

Also, dirty contacts in the in-line connector between the pedal box and the cart's wiring harness can cause surging issues if they get damp. (Humidity is enough)

Thanks JohnnieB

It feels like it's surging and at time it just stalls for a sec. before it picks up and goes again. I'll take a look and see if I can find a problem.
Thanks
Sonny
