Default 42 volt ?

Hi I have a 97 ezgo txt sepex 36 volt cart. Can I add a battery in order to make it 42 volt? I mean, is it that simple? If not what else needs to be done? Thanks.

Or you can do what western did, and that's just add the charger.

I have had my 91 Marathon on 42 volts for 2 Months now and it runs fine.
I have a 7th battery in a marine bat. case in the bag well.
My speed controller is different than yours , mine is a series cart. I think
And I have to charge that extra battery separate from the rest.

I went to 42 v on my 96 TXT sepex and charged the extra battery with a car charger it was kind of a pain in the A$$ swapping cables when I charged it, when I went to 48v I got smart and bought a DPI charger from Scotty

I have two 42v carts with 42v chargers on the ranch. One series and one PDS. Both have Alltrax controls for more power and speed.
