Default 98 ezgo motor test help

I have a 98 ezgo.
I put wire from s1 to a2 and power on s2. Ground on a1
And only got a light spark. I flipped the power ground and same thing just a light spark

I pulled motor and took it to my work and on a bench with good batteries checked again same thing just a light spark.
Guessing motor is no good ?

You should not run a motor if it is not bolted to the rear end. There is no bearing on the front of the motor if it's not bolted to the rear end. What volts are you testing with. And are you using battery cables

Is it a Sepex motor or a Series motor? A Sepex motor cannot pass enough current through the stator winding to run properly if wired as a Series motor like you did. Check the motor model number to be sure before trying to test it as a Series motor.
