Default No charge/No go/Pack volts drop to 0

Diagnosing a 1997 CC DS cart and I have never seen all these symptoms together. Charger wont kick on and I have replaced the OBC with a known good one. Pack Voltage is 50 at rest but when go pedal is pressed the voltage across the pack drops to 1 volt. Solenoid does not click when pedal is pressed. Cart does not move at all when pedal is pressed. Any ideas on where to start?

How are you reading the 50 pack volts? You may not actually have 50 volts but a ghost voltage due to capacitance in the system.

If using a quality multimeter, disconnect the B+ and B- and check for the true pack voltage. Then check individual batteries. These can be checked without disconnecting each one.

Beyond this, I can't fathom that serious of a voltage drop without some smoke!

Smarter guys, please chime in here!

Lol wow no idea...never encountered such a situation before. Even if batteries were bad the chances of the entire pack being 1 volt is very unlikely. You sure your measuring from the right 2 batteries? Lol Load test each battery too if you want

Wow! That is crazy. Are you measuring the voltage before and after the solenoid or on the Main pack + & -?

Could be a dead short in one (or more) of your batteries when under load.
Retest your pack voltage under static conditions (total pack voltage and each individual battery voltage under static condition).
Apply a load to your batteries by pressing the go pedal and check the total pack voltage under load again and each individual battery under load.
You may find some batteries remain near static voltage and one (or more) drop out completely when under load.
How old are your batteries (check date code stamped on terminals). What make are the batteries?

I know it is crazy. I am using a $20+ multimeter that I use often and I am measuring from pack - and pack +. I am going to try load testing the batteries this morning but they are 2016 US batteries. This one has me stumped.

It has to in the battery chain due to an open battery under load,
high resistance cable crimp opening under load or some battery cable not making good contact.

1 volt won't engage the solenoid.

Otherwise you would be smoking something.

And you would have to ground that to your oven or dryer element to get that kind of draw (which even at that would be gradual and not immediate). Like Raystar said, there is a loose or bad connection in the chain causing it to lose the voltage. Remove each battery connection, clean each terminal, reattach them and retighten. Do this all the way to the solenoid on the + and to the controller on the -.

Thanks! I am redoing every battery connection now.

I undid all the cables and wire brushed the connections. Put it all back together and the Solenoid clicked once but that was it and it wouldn’t do it again. I am thinking maybe trying replacing all the battery cables. Maybe one of them is broken inside the housing?
