6.5" Bazooka Sub Install - 2017 RXV
Hello,
New to thread so, apologies for anything annoying. Bazooka BTA6100 is what I want to install. I currently have a 2017 EZGO RXV Freedom 48v. It has two Rockford Fosgate speakers currently set up and running. I plan on mounting sub between my seat and the rear seats (enough room). The sub has a built in amp...do I need an extra battery or do I simply hook it up to where my speakers are hooked up to underneath the seat? Thanks for any information you can provide. S. Cox |

If you don’t have one already, get a voltage reducer and wire all those speakers to a fuse block. It’ll save your batteries in the long run. Post a picture of your wiring under the seat. I just finished my audio and lighting additions on my cart and wouldn’t do it any other way.

Also just to preface—rxv’s are apparently really fickle beasts. Before doing anything make sure the cart is in tow mode. I researched and asked tons of questions before I felt
Comfortable enough to start tinkering with wiring on mine. |

Thanks. Pretty sure I have a fuse block already for the original sound system. Couple wires (red/yellow) with fuses connected away from battery area with an amp looking device as well. I appreciate the feedback so far.

That amp device is most likely a reducer. What’s wired off of that?

Simon, you should post some pictures before you go digging around in there. As josh is telling you, the electronics in the rxv are touchy. I don’t have one (like to do too much on my own, but don’t know enough. Haha) but I’ve read multiple times here about guys frying their controllers. You just want to be sure you have the right plan before you cost yourself a bunch of $.

The pic I attached you can see the speaker wires are connected to that reducer (I think that's what that is)... I have a kicker controller (40PXIBT50.2) So, the sub has a built in amp, can I connect it where the speaker wires are (voltage reducer) in that pic or do I have to wire it directly to the controller by RCA maybe??
Thanks again! |

I'm not a professional Simon, but my guess is that your speakers aren't connected to that silver reducer. They should be wired to your Kicker controller and then your kicker is wired into the reducer for power.
I think your Kicker may have an output source that would go to your Bazooka tube. You may want to wait for others to chime in, but that's how I see it from the info you've given. |

Thanks Stingray but the wires on the left there are speaker wires I believe. Unless, your saying those go into the controller and then the speakers plug into the controller as well. And now I think the silver box is a converter of some sort.

I would expect that your two fosgate speakes are wired directly into the 4 speaker wires coming out of the Kicker controller. The kicker controller, would then be wired to the silver reducer in your picture. In the picture, to me, that looks like a ground block on this side of the reducer and the positive block on the left. There wouldn't be any reason for your speakers to be wired directly to that positive block unless they were also powered speakers of some sort.
