Good Battery Deal??
I have the opportunity to buy 6 US Battery 125xc2 for my 87 Marathon for $550 exchange out the door. They are all dated in 2017 but I do not know the dates yet.
I believe that is a good deal how about you? Thanks |

Re: Good Battery Deal??
Sounds like a good price for US. That’s what I pay for a pack of 8v powertrons here, and they’re not nearly as good.

Re: Good Battery Deal??
From their respective spec sheets:
US 125xc2 = 242AH @ 20Hr rate, 140 minutes @ 75A and weighs 66 pounds. Trojan T-105 = 225AH @ 20Hr rate, 115 minutes @ 75A and weighs 62 pounds. The US 125xc2 has 17AH more storage capacity, 25 minutes longer run-time, 4 pounds more weight and cost $50 less per set than the Trojan T-105, so the US batteries appear to be the better buy, but you may have to buy a new charger since not all chargers will properly charge US Battery batteries, so the Trojan batteries might be the best bang for the buck when viewed from the bottom line aspect. |

Re: Good Battery Deal??
Johnnie B, are you saying the charger may not be strong enough to take advantage of the US Battery? I have the original 87 Textron Charger.

Quote:
Trojan T-105's 6-V $118 each, plus tax Trojan T-145 Plus 6-V $201 each, plus tax The price increase of the T-145's vs the T-105's is 70% HIGHER!! I guess one must consider if the 70% price increase is worth a 20% longer run time. |

Re: Good Battery Deal??
Your original charger will not charge the USB batteries to 100% which will decrease their lifespan. Better to pick up a DPI charger and set it to the correct charge mode for the higher capacity USB batteries and get a good 5+ years out of them. Or pay a little more and stick with the Trojans and use your original charger.
