2000 DS charger doesn't shut off

Batteries are 2 yr old Trojan. Load test very good. Pack voltage 54
Charged for about 10 hrs...amp gauge on factory charger shows 7 amps.

I plugged up a brand new charger let it run all day and that night...next morning...still charging...does not shut off.....

Unplug the pack negative for 15-20 mins and let the OBC fully deplete. Reattach the cable and then plug the charger back in. Allow it to fully run a charge cycle which can be 16 hours (at that time it will time out) and the voltage can and will be ~63v's to even as high as ~65v's at the end. This will be very low amps (5 or less) so do not get concerned.

A couple of things you can do or watch for with a "normal" OBC:
- Cart will not engage and move why plugged in
- No back-up alarm
- Charger will take 5 - 10 seconds to come on after plugging in
- Charger will shut off and then come back on towards the beginning to sense (this may not happen with a reset OBC)

I am having one doing same thing the customer replaced the solenoid and now when you plug the charger its starts charging in when amps get down to near zero the charger cuts off and on very rapidly but never cuts off which boils the water out when its kicking off and on the battery warning lamp flashes off and on also,Could him having replace the solenoid have caused this,Thanks

No sir, the OBC controls that. Appears the OBC has failed.

If the problem started after the Solenoid was replaced I would double check the customer did not put any wires on the Big Post on the Controller Side of the Solenoid as that would cause issues with the OBC.
