Headlight wiring 03 DS

I agree with the reducer, but in a pinch it can be wired to 16v, I did this when I first got my cart. I’ll be ordering a 48-12v 30amp reducer of Amazon ~40$ on amazon to run some lights and a phone charger.

Get a reducer from Scotty at cartsunlimited.net. The amazon ones are junk.

I had one guy at our campground who had installed one of the amazon units: It actually caught fire the first time he used it. Beware

Wow. I’ve never had fire but I’ve had a lot of faulty ones.

Yup, I had 2 of them do it. First was years ago with a no name aluminum finned ebay special our church bought and asked me to install. We got it hooked up and then was testing it and it worked for about 5-10 minutes and then shorted out and the plastic wire jacketing caught fire. Was supposed to be a 20 amp unit but it did not take the ~10 amps from the headlights.....
