Default Brakes lock up after installing a 4" Lift

Brakes lock up after installing a 4" Lift, Lift kit is Jakes 4" and golf cart is a 2017 Club Precedent.

I adjusted the cable under the floor mat, but now the brakes go all the way down, and lock up completely.

I can't find a adjustment either way from getting them from locking up.

When I step on the brake pedal, I have to brake to sudden lock up

Merry Christmas !

Make sure the U-bolts holding the axle are tight and are not allowing the axle to rotate when the brakes are applied.

I had a similar experience with my DS. The cable became pulled too taught by the lift. When applying brakes, the axle would shift (spin) slightly increasing tension on the cable and locking the brakes. There is a bracket that relieves the tension. Google “clubcar brake cable extension bracket”. It doesn’t seem like that should make much difference but it solved the issue for me.

The driver side is the tight one and normally replaced with a passenger side brake cable.

I think David from RevolutionGolfCars.com mentioned something about a new longer driver side cable as well....

The manual calls for the brake cable equalizer freeplay to be adjusted to 2 inches +- 1/16" .

Yes, we have them in our store. The cable will do the trick.
