Club car charger?
I picked up a charger for my 2001 48v carryall, but it has no cord. I bought a new cord for it, and it fits the cart fine. I just need to combine the 2 and hope it works! Does anyone have a picture of where the 3 wires are supposed to connect to inside the charger, or is it obvious once I pull off the cover? If I remember correctly there are white, black, and green wires I need to connect. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Club car charger?
This is the DC charge cord that plugs into the cart right?
What charger did you buy? The connections are in different places so an exact model and number will help. |

Re: Club car charger?
Yes, the DC cord. It's in the trunk of my car at the airport but I'll be there in a few hours and can confirm. It's the factory charger, I'm 99% sure it is a power wise 2. Was hoping to hook it up tonight when I get back home and hope.it works lol

Re: Club car charger?
Check, but that is most likely a "Powerdrive 2"

Re: Club car charger?
Correct sorry. Power drive 2. I saw it for a total of about 30 seconds before I put it in my trunk and got on a plane. I was close at least!

Re: Club car charger?
Did it come with the strain relief for the cord?
It's not 100% necessary but it keeps the terminals from getting yanked out of the charger if the cords gets pulled or tripped on. Pretty sure you can still get those if you dig around enough, but it may be easier to see if David can get you one. You think the wires in your new cord are black white and green? You'll have to note which wire color go to which pins in the plug. Original colors are red, black and blue. Which are 48+(pack positive), 48- (OBC negative), and OBC sense, respectively. Your Red 48+ at the plug goes to the ammeter in the charger. The Black Negative from plug goes to the big fuse assembly in the charger. The center pin (shorter than the other two in the plug end) goes to the relay coil side. This is the "sense" wire, which is basically just the relay control to the OBC. There should be a red wire jumper on the relay, and a white wire on the other pin. The sense wire connects to the pin opposite of the white wire. |
