Steering Wheel Nut and Threads

Bought a new steering wheel for 2002 CC DS and took off the cover plate to steering wheel and found NO NUT in place.
I was in Lancaster and visited Stotlzfus Carts and was able to get a nut and washer off a used trade in cart......
BUT the threads are stripped at the top of the steering column, anyone know what size threads they are so I can die the threads to get the nut on?

How far down are they stripped? If its only the 1-2 threads on the end just use the edge of a half-round file and re-shape them or file them completely off. As I'm sure you've noticed, it doesn't take much to hold the wheel on, so even if you have to take a few threads off the nut will still hold.
