Default 2009 rxv, new motor brake

I just received a new motor brake for my 2009 rxv I bought what I thought was a brake for 2008 and up. When I opened the package the brake has a long tail for the electric plug. The one I took off my cart did not. Is this an upgrade? Wrong brake? Thanks for your time !!

Part # 617766, OEM EZGO Brake. Yes it has that tail, but the plug is the same. The original brake on a 2008 RXV had that stupid handle to release it and it was junk. All RXVs both new and earlier had the same E-brake. The OEM one just omits the handle

NO! While it is an OEM brake, it is the OEM HD brake, which causes nothing but trouble on the 2012-and prior models. They are only suitable for 2012.5 with Curtis controller.

Yes buy OEM but not a HD brake.

As per Bob he is seeing more problems with people running the OEM HD brake even with the ones with the Curtis controller in them.
