02 club car carryall 2 electric rear end noise
I have a 02 club car carryall 2 electric 48v that makes an awful growling noise from the rear end when you let up on the gas pedal in a certain spot. It also makes the same noise when going down hill and holding the pedal down. you can let up on the pedal all the way and coast down the hill and its perfectly quiet. i believe its coming from the motor and not so much the rear differential. i replaced the brushes and bearing in the motor but did not help the issue. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 02 club car carryall 2 electric rear end noise
A chattering or rattle sound is Usually because of worn splines on the motor coupler to the axle input shaft. That can usually be fixed with a motor centering kit.
Check with David Hicks at Revolution Golf Cars. If it’s a whirring, whining, or low pitch growling noise, that will be bearings or gear wear in the axle and will need to be disassembled and inspected to determine which parts need to be replaced. |
