Have you checked the throttle signal like Fairtax suggested.

Top speed on level ground (grass) 9 mph. On level ground (asphalt) 11 mph.
On incline (grass) 5 mph. On incline (asphalt) 8 mph. Not sure how to check the throttle signal from the MCOR to the controller, but the MCOR is brand new.

That sounds about the same as my 48v carryall was. With that, I came to the conclusion that’s just “how it is”.

But it’s worth watching battery voltage. Hook a meter directly to the pack pos and neg terminals and take it for a drive. Make sure when it slows down it doesn’t dip way down. If it does it could indicate a bad battery(or batteries). If it stays steady and solid then that may just be about how it is. And the controller is choking current which will really make the performance suffer. If so, an alltrax can really help wake it up.

I’ve got a 2004 series DS now and it isn’t much better. It will do about 12-13mph on last asphalt but is painfully slow in grass. You want to stick your leg out and help kick.

Underinflated tires will cause this too.

This was my experience that was similar. I just accepted that this is how it is.

https://www.buggiesgonewild.com/showthread.php?t=150273

I had a 48v DS with an alltrax, HD Solenoid, and admiral motor from revolution. Think it was a 2000 or 2001. That thing SCREAMED!!! Potential is there for the right $$$ ...

It has brand new batteries, new wheels and tires. I have a voltage meter installed on the dashboard. It only dips down a little bit on level ground, but going up a very steep grade, it will dip down to around 49.6. The MCOR conversion kit most likely was from China. Question, now that the conversion kit is installed, do I only need to purchase the oem MCOR box, or an entire oem MCOR conversion kit?

Test the throttle signal before replacing any parts.

Raise one of the rear wheels off the ground.

Set your meter for DC volts, 20v scale if not auto range.

Place the meter negative probe on Controller B- or pack negative battery post.

Pull the quick connector slightly off terminal #3 on your Controller so you can place your meter positive probe there but leave it still connected to terminal #3.

The voltage should be less than 0.3v right after the MCOR "clicks" and go higher than 4.65v when the pedal is all the way down to get full speed.
