Do my EZGO TXT Leaf Springs need replaced?
Hi all. Hoping for some help regarding the leaf springs on a 2005 EZGO TXT PDS I recently acquired. As I was disassembling to paint the body, I noticed the rear leaf springs were completely horizontal and there doesn’t appear be any bushings. However, this is the first time I have ever worked on a golf cart so not entirely sure what it should look like. I have attached a couple pictures. Do I need to replace the leaf springs and bushings? Thanks!

and you can get the bushing sets on AMAZON.....but remember, there are 2 bushings for each end of the spring, PLUS another for the shackle.....a total of 12 for both springs.

Re: Do my EZGO TXT Leaf Springs need replaced?
Bushing are gone.
No arc to springs means they are worn out also. I replaced mine with duel action springs. They give nice ride when 1 or 2 people in cart but also for those rare times when back seat is used still give nice ride. Either way yours need replacing. Hint ,get the hardware kit with them. Front mounting bolt is unige being the bolt head is thin unlike normall bolt head. Also be prepared to cut off and replace original mounting bolts. Original ones most likely will not come off with out a fight.😊 |

Re: Do my EZGO TXT Leaf Springs need replaced?
I had a broken front spring on one, and my rear springs looked like yours, so I replaced all 4 of them along with the bushings. I put new shocks on too. It doesn't require any great mechanical ability to do this, but few of those parts came off without a fight.
It rides much better now with a heavy load, but rides much rougher with just me in it. I wish I had not used HD springs. Good luck! |
