I still like a $40 solenoid better :-)

Looks like one can find Curtis replacements cheap than I found, but I didn't look very hard.

Anyway, you probably already have what is needed to program an Alltrax since you have an SR in your other cart.

I am surprised that the Alltrax is that much. I wish they made a universal one that came with the harness. They might but I don’t think I have ever seen it.. That is why I bought the last 1268 I bought plus it had 2 mode capabilities. We were converting a series cart to a sepex and figured we didn’t need to buy a complete new harness.

What does it take to program the 1268, pretty straight forward?

In the short version you can buy one mostly programmed but it will require a good bit of tweaking. I found the manual for the 1268 and it should be close. Error 2,5 is the aux brake solenoid if it has one and 5,2 is for issues with the Main coil(solenoid). If you could find someone with a developer cable and a laptop you could grab a snapshot of the settings on your controller if you had to replace it.

Here's the manual for a 1268. Page-7 tells you a Curtis programmer is needed and Pages 15 through 30 are the programming instructions.

Ok, here’s some info.

The J1-2 wire seems to have separated from the pin. I was hoping that was the issue but when I push and hold that wire in place I get nothing still. An issue I need to fix (how do I get that pin out of that molex connector?)

Checking the solenoid. Everything on in the run position I have pack voltage on the blue wire terminal. I have no voltage on the yellow wire side. I wasn’t clear from how @johnnieb wrote that up what it meant if no voltage there or if that is right.

Trying to figure out how to test voltage on pins 6 & 8 with pin 2 disconnected, if that is an issue or not. Will check anyway.

J1-2 is the power input from the run/tow switch.. If that was loose I wouldn’t think you would get the led status light.. you sure that was the correct one ? J1-23 is for the aux coil

Correct. Status LED does not work if I pull that out completely. It must have been partially connected before. Clearly an issue now.
