Default TXT Brake Drum seized on axle

I went to replace the brake shoes and the drums are seized on the axles. I tried liquid wrench, soaked, loosened the axle nuts and drove in circles, bought and tried a slide hammer, put a puller and tried that and peened the end of the axle,... but the drum has not moved. The E-Brake is not on and there's plenty of slack in the cables. Ideas? I have already bought and have 2 new drums, 2 new axles, seals and bearings, Shoes. How do I get these off?

I have had luck with what does not seem to be the right thing to do. Take a large socket to go over axle and fit to drum and take a couple of whacks to drive it on further, you won't really, but it may loosen it up to get off with a puller. 2 cents worth, maybe one....

Didn't budge. I may have to cut it down and break it off. If I can get to the circlip that holds the axle in I'm good! I have ALL new pieces. I just don't wanna damage the backing plate and assembly. The rest I'm gonna trash. Axles, Bearings +Seals, Shoes, Drums,... going in the garbage.

About 40 years ago an old timer showed me this trick it worked both times I tried it. Have someone step on the brake as hard as they can. Then hit the drum on the outside (not the face) right where the pads are with a least a 2lb hammer - don't be shy. Do this on both sides a couple of times. If it's going to come loose it shouldn't take more than a couple of blows. If the brake isn't forcing the shoes out to the drum it won't work.

I had to beat one off with a 2lb hammer. Broke it into pieces. Its low quality cast iron...broke apart nicely. You could but score lines in it with an angle grinder to direct where it splits, but it will break apart.

Talking Re: TXT Brake Drum seized on axle

I just had this happen 2 days ago. I used a grinder and cut the hub in half. Reached in with my snap ring pliers and pulled the axle c clip. Pulled the axle out and threw it all in the trash can.

This seems like my next best course of action. Hopefully it works as well as yours did!
