Default 2016 ezgo rxv- 2 mph

I have a 2016 EZGO RXV in the shop. The cart defaulted to LIMP MODE-
(2 MPH), prior to it coming in the customer had changed out the Motor Encoder.
I have personally not familiarized myself with RXV in the past as I am not very familiar on the carts. I have driven the cart and it consistently runs approximately 1-2 MPH without any hiccups. When I checked the cart with the handheld it had multiple codes present. I cleared the codes not knowing how old they might have been. Once I drove the cart again I am now receiving PRESENT CODE- Motor Temp Sensor Fault, and STORED CODES- Controller OverCurrent, Motor Temp Sensor Fault and Throttle Zero Check. Does anyone have any input on a possible starting point to diagnose further?
Thank you in advance!

Motor temp sensor fault. Check that its plugged in at the motor. And ohm test the sensor to verify it's not failed. Rxv troubleshooting guide has pics to show you what to do & what values to expect. Unfortunately, if it's bad, it cant be replaced, its woven into the windings inside the motor, New motor time.

Thank you for the reply. It is in fact plugged in at the motor. When I unplug it and check resistance on the motor side of the harness I get greater than 1600 on the DVM. Am I checking this correctly? Anything specific I need to know about checking it?

That sounds wrong, I believe the range is 400- 1200 ohm. Did you get the RXV troubleshooting guide? (Search this site & download it, lots of info)
