2002 DS Sometimes Goes and Sometimes not
I'm sure this has been asked hundreds of times but maybe I'm just not putting the right words into the search bar. But either way last week I noticed that during a ride I stopped for a few minutes and went to go again the cart would not move. Heard clicking from the micro switch in the MCOR but no solenoid click. Pumped the pedal 20 - 30 times with the key off as I have seen mentioned many times in this forum to check if the MCOR is on its way out. Still no movement forward or reverse. Then it just started working. This now is an intermittent problem every time I take the cart out. The past few times all I did was move the F/R lever to reverse (which the cart will move every time) and back then it would run again until I took my foot completely off the pedal. Before I go dumping a bunch of money replacing things I thought someone might have suggestions. I work pretty much 6 days a week so time is not really a luxury for doing a lot of tearing down/trouble shooting. It does have the original MCOR if that might help. F/R or Controller? Thanks for any help.

Clean all of your connections behind the F/R switch and make sure they are tight. I had that problem in reverse, and making sure all of the connections were clean and tight cured it for me.

Pumping the pedal 20 times is intended to clean a dirty/oxidized wiper contact. The MCOR micro switch may be going. If you replace the MCOR be sure to get the one made in Mexico by ITS Switches. You could get a new one to try, it doesn't hurt to have a spare. Definitely check the wiring for the MCOR switch. |

I was thinking of getting the MCOR 4 conversion kit as mine still has the original and that MCOR1 has not been made for many years from what I have read in this forum. Is this ITS version an MCOR1 or 4? I also now am having a new sound coming from the motor that I have never heard before. Sounds almost like someone is holding a playing card on the spokes of a bicycle wheel going really fast. May have to start a new thread. |

If it works every time in reverse it is not the mcor. Check the fnr switch out..

Re: 2002 DS Sometimes Goes and Sometimes not
Looking at the diagram below when the cart is in F M- should be connected to S1 and A1 should be connected to S2. In R M- should be connected to S2 and A1 should be connected to S1. You can try checking for continuity there..
