I have the same cart with the all the same components you do, but I have a high speed motor and cruising speed in my cart is around 22. A high speed motor will get you more speed and moving to 48 volts. I will be making that switch as well.

Mine had good batteries so I opted to wait on going 48v. With a solenoid, f/r switch and controller capable of 36 or 48v, good cables and plumquick cobra motor, cart is ready to drop in 48v but currently at 36v it goes 27+ mph which is plenty.
