Default 2017 RXV Stops while Driving

I am having an issue.. i will be driving the cart and it will suddenly just stop. I have changed the motor brake, the brake switch by the brake pedal and now am in the process of getting a HD solenoid to see if that's the problem. My controller states that it is 235Amps. But my solenoid is only 150Amps. Would that cause this issue? My solenoid gets extremely hot after playing only 18 holes of golf, to the point it cant be touched. Thoughts?

That 150amps solenoid should be ok for your 2017 RXV.

" 48-volt RXV carts use a 36-volt solenoid
OEM E-Z-GO part for quality and fit
Copper with silver alloy contact system
Load capacity is 150 amps continuous current
Can carry 300 amps for 60 seconds or 400 amps for 30 seconds "

And don't use any HD motorbrake on the RXV.

When that solenoid gets hot, can it cause the issue i am having? Also, my solenoid is a 48v one. should it be a 36v one?

No your 2017 Curtis controller should be a 48v solenoid.

The controllers prior to mid-2014 had a main coil (solenoid) PWM value of 75% (36 VDC).
That includes controllers 1206AC-5201, 1206AC-5202, 1206AC-5203, and 1206AC-5350.

The controllers post mid-2014 had a main coil (solenoid) PWM value of 100% (48 VDC).
That includes controllers 1206AC-5211, 1206AC-5212, 1206AC-5213,1206AC-5231, 1206AC-5233, and 1206AC-5360.

Thanks for the replies. I live in a golf cart community and i am nervous to drive it due to the stopping. I just can't pinpoint what is going on. The solenoid i have gets so hot to the touch, so i thought maybe it would stop the cart is it overheated. The HD solenoid is coming today, but if you guys don't think that's it maybe i should just send it back. Or maybe my 1206AC-5211 controller is going bad? Where can i get one of those? and Cost?

How old are your batteries? One bad cell in one of the batteries could be causing this. Get a multimeter and check those batteries right after the cart stops. Be sure to get a reading on each of the batteries.

Batteries are brand new. One of my cells was bad on old set. This actually was my first fix of the problem, (or non fix) sorry i didn't mention that in the beginning.

New batteries doesn't mean one isn't bad.
