2007 Shuttle Batteries
I have a 2007 Shuttle 48 volt Six Seater equipped with 8 x 6 volt batteries.
When it comes time to replace the batteries is there any advantage or disadvantage to changing to 6 x 8 volt batteries? 6 x 8 volt seems to make more sense. |

Re: 2007 Shuttle Batteries
A 6x8V pack has a less range on a single charge than an 8x6V pack.
A typical 6x8V pack uses 170AH 8V batteries and has about 8.2kWh of stored energy while a typical 8x6V pack uses 225AH 6V batteries and has about 10.8kWh of stored energy, or roughly 32% more range. Using $uper-premium 8V batteries, the most storage you can get you can get from a 6x8V pack is about 9.8kWh. Attached is a list of various batteries in various pack configurations. |
