Default RXV 6 seater - Where can I go from here?

After pulling out all the stops with upgrades (other than the contemplated move to an AC conversion) with my TXT Shuttle Series motor cart to fight the steep hills in my neighborhood, I finally threw in the towel when I saw a For Sale sign on this beauty. She comfortably cruises at 26 mph on flat areas and only drops down to 18 mph on the steepest hills.

I'm pretty happy with her the way she drives but I also have a habit of wanting to modify things so I figured I would start by asking the group (wish I'd done this before dropping a lot of money on the TXT)...where would you go from here?

Info on the current setup:
6 seater RXV cart...came with a California title from a previous registration saying the cart is a 2014 model. AC motor manufacture date is 2012...not positive what year it actually is. Pretty sure it is a 2012 as I located the sticker on the steering column which shows Model No 606600G01 with Date Code J2912.
- Has the 350A Curtis 1206AC-5360 controller
- Iskra (based on internet search...label is smudged and ___ra appears visible) AMT7120 3 Phase AC Motor. 1/24/2012 manufacture date
- 1EB045-34 36V 51W MATRIX INTERNATIONAL Servo Motor Electric Brake (8/20 manufacture date)
- 23x10x14 tires
- Spicer DANA model 012AJ474 1 Rear Differential (couldn't find the gearing info on this one)
- 4 x 12V Trojan T-1275 batteries (think manufactured in January of 20...XA020CA.... laser etched serial numbers on all 4 batteries)

The guy I bought it from told me that he had a time or two where the cart cut off while driving and he determined the keyed ignition had gotten a little fickle. At the time he had a pool RFID access card and a few other keys hanging from the ignition key. I've experienced this once since I bought it a few weeks ago with the only keys hanging on the ring being 2 glove box keys. I figure I'll order a new ignition switch to see if that solves the problem.

I typically only will drive 2-5 miles max before putting it back in the garage and on the charger so range isn't a big concern to me. In my town, carts are only allowed on streets with 25 mph or lower speed limits so I keep up with traffic fine. The hills in my neighborhood are rather steep...my TXT with the 600A Alltrax SR and Plum Quick Black Widow would drop down to about 9 mph where this one won't drop below 18 on the same hill.

About the only thing I know I want to upgrade right now is the stereo. It has a 4 speaker Boss stereo powered by the weak head-unit amp. I wouldn't mind the cart going a little faster on the hills but not sure I really need it going much faster on the flats.

So what do you think...what would be on your list of upgrades or performance mods?

Nice looking cart! Glad you found something that'll work on your hills.

I know here in FL if I convert my cart to street legal I'll get a vin and title stating it is a 2021 LSV (Low Speed Vehicle), not a 2013 golf cart. So if the cart was converted after it was manufactured then it makes sense why the year is off. If it was converted, there should be a different VIN somewhere.

I do not have any personal experience modifying an RXV, but I have read the sorrowful stories of many here who have... The RXV is finicky so be careful (way more particular than my TXT).

I think Bob does programming on this to help with performance. But I thought he had to do it in person with the cart.

Thanks for the compliments! I've done some reading and it does sound like Bob is the authority to program an RXV controller and sounds like he covers the TN/GA/NC tri-state area. Maybe I'll have to trailer my cart to him and make a stop at the casino in Murphy NC while up there ;) I have seen references to mailing off a controller to Bob but I'm just not sure if the one in my cart has been tweaked already or if I could expect to get faster speeds on the hills and flats with his magic.

I was just glad I could test drive the cart in my own neighborhood to see how it did on the hills before buying it. The TXT does fine on the flats and topped out around 18-19 mph. This one seems a lot faster with more torque all the way around.

I'd thought I might upgrade to a lithium battery pack but after seeing some horror stories about cells dropping when used on a high speed or high amp cart, I think I may hold off. It runs pretty good now so I'll probably wait a few years until I need new batteries before upgrading the pack and hopefully there will be some out of the box options with a better BMS.

eldrima, from what I've read on here 23" tires will ruin your controller unless the torque has been turned up. 26mph sounds about right for a stock 350amp without the speed turned up. Could be someone turned up the torque but not the speed. Safest thing to do is get Bob to work his magic on it. That is a sharp looking cart.

Thanks for the compliments...I'll definitely get Bob to check the controller for me if he is making his way through the Atlanta area sometime. I don't have access to a good trailer for it and afraid it will be hard to fit on a 6x12 UHaul utility trailer.

I'll try and get some better photos of the cart when the weather clears up. Really soggy here today with remnants of Ida making their way past. I had to use the wide angle on my camera to get these shots.
