Default G1 Accessory Electrical Panel add on

I think the G1s have a strange grounding system so i just want to verify that im correct on my thought process. Im getting ready to add an small electrical panel with about 4 toggle switches, phone charger, and a 12 volt round plug. I will be adding some head lights and tail lights and maybe a couple other items. Do i just run the negative and positive from the battery straight to the panel and then connect everything to the panel? Will i have to ground the headlights and or taillights to the body of the G1? Or anything else?

Yep…G1s are strange beasts with the negative side of the battery not grounded to the frame. I would run all accessory power and ground back to the battery. I mounted a terminal board near the battery, and ran + & - to it so I’d have an easy place make all my connections.

i have cut a spot out on the front side panel and planning to run two thick wires to the panel from the battery. Once i run my positive and negative to the accessory board, i can then just wire to everything else from the accessory board as positive and negative? correct
