Default tach install

i have a 92 cc bought a iequus tach from cart parts plus just wondering how you guys wired it as in the green wire ive got the red white and black done just wanted to hard wire it and not use the brown adaptor to the plug wire

I don't know but the green wire usually goes to -coil on the tachs I've wired.
I haven't messed with any small engine tachs but I thought they use an inductive trigger right off the spark plug? Sorry can't be much help to ya, didn't it come with directions, exactly what model is it maybe we can come up with a pdf file or something.

What model did you buy? The one's I know of that work for golf carts have an inductive pick up that goes to a spark plug wire......

Ya I ran the inductive one at the plug and it don't work right it's reading 6000 at idle it's the only one cart parts sells and yes I followed the directions and set it to 500 rpm

It's the dial one and forgot to say it will read around 6000 and then jump all over the place thanks for the help

Sounds like you have done everything right. The inductive pickup is directional. Maybe turn it around and try it? Bad ground?
