I know you are not new to electronics. But you are new to golf carts. Standardized terminology is important in making it easy for us to understand one another.
When I open a charger I see a relay, If the relay needs to be replaced I open a catalog and order a relay. The man on the phone sends me a relay, not a solenoid. It's all good

gaminde your not a fool but scotty is right. i know if i call for parts and ask for the soleniod in the charger instead of the low voltage sensor ( or relay) the person i,m talking with is going to think i,m a fool......................

solenoids usually involves moving something much more significant than the tiny contacts of a relay. ie: a plunger.

*note* not all solenoids are relays... for instance, a car door lock solenoid. the solenoid is responsible for mechanical actuation of the door lock mechanism. a separate relay is used to switch the solenoid's latch state.

the obc feeds the negative terminal on the golf cart solenoid..
if the obc malfunctions it will not supply the negative feed...result...no solenoid
click.....run a permanent jumper lead from negative on solenoid to negative on battery 6,,, be careful... you can now move the cart with the
charger plugged in!!
