Lifted 36v
Ok, so i have my cart basically put together. Now I am not satisfied. I want more. I really want to put a lift and bigger tires, but, it is a marathon, with 36v. If I do go ahead with the lift and wheels and tires, what kind of run time am I going to have. I am really new to all this and would like some direction. Thanks.

Re: Lifted 36v
Marathons are series cars, and don't react badly to bigger tyres like PDS cars. A lifted car will actually have longer run time, because every rotation, the wheel travels a greater distance because of the larger circumference, also giving you more speed.

Re: Lifted 36v
I recently bought an '08 txt, lifted it and put on the bigger tires, what are the bad reactions?
Thanks Rob |

Re: Lifted 36v
The pds controller was engineered to haul 2 people around a relatively flat cart path on 18 inch tires. Nothing more than that, they are not terribly over engineered.
when you modify with larger tires and extra seating you are putting additional stress on the controller, solenoid, and motor. The PDS drive system needs to be upgraded to compensate for the increased loads. While the Series cart is more forgiving it too can benefit from a drive system upgrade. |

I have a 2006 36 volt PDS lifted with bigger tires and here are the upgrades I've done: 500 amp Alltrax Controller- limited to 80% output 2 gauge wire throughout HD Solenoid, Diode, etc.. I'm going on 2 years with the upgrades & stock motor. Carts Unlimited has excellent prices and service and ScottyB is a regular here. He answers questions quickly & he can fix you up with all the things you'll need. |

Re: Lifted 36v
It looks like Package #909 from ScottyB is the way to go Curious as to the 80% limit on your controller?
I have recently seen some info on AC conversions, they will be in my area next week and I thought I would check it out but do you guys have any thoughts on these? Thanks Rob edit: GM, Is the 80% limit on your controller because you are running the stock motor? what kind of speed do you currently get? Last edited by Hypersprint; 09-13-2011 at 11:53 AM.. Re: Lifted 36v
Not sure- mine are 23s. I've read that I'm on borrowed time with the stock motor with my set up. 24s might hasten the motor failure but not sure.
