OBC stud
In some cases the OBC (on board computer) has not worked well with a few cable upgrades. In some cases where the new heavier cable has been run around the OBC while leaving the old cable in place, the carts ran fine but the OBC could not count the actual drain that was put on the battery pack during use... in a few cases this led to the OBC not recharging the batteries to their full potential.
These cases were few. But in my discussions with TahoeDawg and PQ Robby both expressed their preference for drawing all the battery current through the OBC. This is a problem with the newer versions of the OBC... all CC IQ and Precedent cable sets will come standard with the new OBC stud kit. |

Re: OBC stud
That will sure make upgraded cable installation much easier! I've read many posts about trying to get big wire through small hole!

Re: OBC stud
I'm not taking any credit, (or blame as the forum goes) for this one..... I first heard of this a yr ago from Robby and then last summer again from Tahoe. I just been slow implementing it... the first one went out with a set of #2 cables today. I just wanted to let other Precedent owners to know this was available.... Thanks for looking. |

Re: OBC stud
The OBC is made of plastic. So the bolts do not need to be tight at all against the OBC snug so the stud does not rattle around would be good... finger tight.
The idea is to get a good tight connection for each cable on the ends of the stud. Most people tighten electrical connections up way too tight..... case in point was a young man who recently stripped the threads on the solenoid large posts.... try to do that on an old solenoid that may take 30 ft pounds. |
