Default New guy here, G29 first cart.

Just bought my first cart, G29 Drive with long travel lift kit. Seems OK so far but just drove it around the house for 10 mins. What do I need to know? Any pointers, tips, or suggestions? Has a little belt chirp sometimes on engagement.....normal? Thanks.

Take us some pics. We love pics. Would like to see the long travel brand you have and also take some pics of the clutches so we can tell why setup and belt you have. Welcome to the addiction. A lot of knowledgeable and patient people here to help you out.

I will have to try to get some pics on my computer, couldn't figure out how to do it on my phone. It's an All Sports 6" lift, the belt has a Yamaha logo on it so it might be original... Who knows. Is this the first thing I need to do?

You asked about belt squeeling, we asked about cart model year, clutch models, and belt details......

Click on go advanced below, then click on valid file extensions, then it will have an icon to open the pics from your phones library, click the picture you want from your phone, click upload, click close window, then click submit reply.

The g29 had several different clutch setups from 07-to present. Who knows what combination of clutch your cart might have through previous ownerships. Yamaha logo is oem belt but there is 2 different belts.

You have the old style team industries clutches that are probably in pretty bad condition. These clutches are known for jerky starts, belt squeal. They don't have grease nipples either to keep the maintenance easy so they don't bind up. Here is a link to what you need if you want the absolute best performance out of the stock engine. Makes a heck of a difference.

That isn't in the budget at all rite now. I just changed the rear end oil and looked really good.
The spring on the rear clutch is a light purple ish...is this a stock spring?
