Default Ezgo Carb advice

I have a 2002 Ezgo TXT, looking to replace the carb, there are so many out there with the price range from $16-190... most of them are aftermarket and usually are junk, any suggestions on what and where to buy from would greatly be appreciated

I have had good luck with Buggies Unlimited. They seem a step up from some of the junk out there from other places.

Just google country cat
They are an ezgo dealer and will have the one you need. Don't waste your money on anything other than the OEM.

I would give it a good cleaning first. Usually that is all they need.

Cleaned it twice already and it still needs the choke to start and stumbles intermittently while accelerating

Have you adjusted your valves?

Yes cart around, adjusting the valves should be the first thing you do on these engines.

I am placing my bet on the intake valves being sunk in head but I could be wrong. No telling how many I have replaced with issues just like this.

A picture taken with valve cover off will show us if the two middle valves have lots more threads on them than the exhaust. Take a picture of what the spark plugs look like also while you are at it .

Another thing about cleaning the carburetor is under the main jet there is a tube that is next to impossible to remove . It has to be cleaned and the carb cleaner that is used today won't clean those tiny holes in the tube.

Also check the compression making sure throttle is held wide open. Let us know what the reading is.

They should make this a sticky for people to read before they post about this issue.
