I might try a bigger solenoid? With a new resistor and diode.... just because they are cheap. Are you doing a lot of slow driving?

I would say I'm guilty of creeping around, but not what I'd call alot.

Creeping builds heat in the PDS carts. Mostly we hear about motor trouble but I guess it could effect the controller also?

We replace the solenoid EVERY time we replace a burnt controller, with no exceptions. The 400 amp controller should have had a HD solenoid running, as well. I think I may have mentioned this when you were first in the market? If, not, then I am now

Electronics fail - unfortunately yours may have been slightly premature...

Why do I see such a wide price range on a replacement DCX400 controller. I've seen it priced anywhere between $378 to $684. I'm planning on buying from a site sponsor, preferably one of you guys who have helped me. Gotta get my funds right first.

I wouldn't pay $684* for that unit if it had gold terminals. Prices vary, because they do. If you plan on using the cart for anything other than golf, good customer service will be the deciding factor in the best vendor value. All of the vendors here are great.

*I suspect bad data here.

I had a dealer call the vendor just because I was curious about the price. Nivel said the price was correct, but the dealer got a 40% discount. If this dealer marked it up, it was still the highest price I got.

$684 is suggested full retail from Nivel. Note the word SUGGESTED.....

Not sure where you found it at $378, but that is a steal of a price for that controller..... The vendor selling it at that price is basically giving it to you at cost.

As has been mentioned before, go with a site sponsor like Scotty or Mike and you will get the support to back the product (even if the cost is slightly higher than that lowball figure you posted)

I'm not going to mention the "low-ball" vendors name out of respect to site sponsors, but I've seen it here quiet a few times and I had good luck with them on previous purchases. They are also throwing in the diodes and resistors for free if I was going to go with them.
I plan on going with a site sponsor if it isn't over $50 more. If it is, I have to think about it since I work hard for my money.
