Default 94 electric ez go "chugs"

Only way I can describe it is a car running out of gas. Battteries are fully charged. When you push pedal the cart "chugs" it will go forward and back, (barely) but in a chugging motion like its not getting all the juice it needs. Kids were riding it fine, parked for a minute to pull in garage and the cart started doing this. Thanks for the help and a great site.

Welcome to BGW!

Every sparky problem starts with voltage. We need you pack voltage, and individual battery voltages, both at rest and while the cart is trying to run. One bad cell can bring the pack down. Also, does the cart freewheel easily by hand? Finally, is this a controller or resistor cart?

I dont have a lot of knowledge on this stuff but Im learning. 6 batts. at 6 volts makes it a 36 v system. I can push it freely. I believe it is a controller system....has the black box next to the batteries that run to the motor on the axle.

Rest voltage-6.2-6.4

Attempt to move-down to 5.9 most of time did see a 5.7

not that means anything but all six batteries were new in July 10

Thanks for helping

6.3 x 6 = 37.8 volts Fully charged is 38.4 36.1 is empty .... Is there any clicking noise when it is doing this chugging? IF not might just be a loose battery cable connection? or a burnt up F&R direction switch? Does it do it in F&R? have you checked all cable connections? Tug on them to see they are solid?

Yes I checked the cables they all seem tight. It does it in foreward and reverse. I will check the resting votage again. Do I need to disconnect the system to do this? I previously checked each battery but did not disconnect anything. I did not hear any clicking. Will go through connections again. Thanks

There is a single click from the controller box, then the rear end motor starts its thumping sound like it wants to go but is not gettting what it wants for juice. I
