g9 valves
does anyone know if the g9 motor oils the valves or are they suppose to be dry? I just bought a g9 cart from a friend of mine, and when i adjusted the valves they were dry.

Re: g9 valves
The valves are oiled. The rubber hose that goes from the crankcase to the valve cover is the oil delivery hose. Oil splash, then air pressure from the piston downstroke forces oil up the hose and onto the rocker arms and valve stems.
If the engine has been sitting a long time, the oil will run back into the crankcase. Check the hoses, and pour a little oil on the valves and rockers before running the engine. Hope this helps... |

Re: g9 valves
There is a little check valve in the hose that comes off the passenger side of the valve cover. It may need cleaning or replacement. You can see the hose in this picture.
I would change all hoses in the process of making your car run tho. |

Re: g9 valves
Checked all the hoses, checkvalve, oil level, everythings good. The engine has been recently rebuilt,is there any thing that could have been done during the rebuild to cause this problem?

Re: g9 valves
I didn't do anything, I didn't tell you to blow through the hose so see if the valve was working or in backwards! But glad you found it! Now go ride it and have fun!!
