Default turn signal help

Ok. I purchased a turn signal kit from e.c. and I'll be danged I cant get the darn things to blink. I have L.E.D. tail and front lights. I did get the L.E.D. flasher with the kit. I have the wires going from the turn signal per the diagram to the black wires on the tail lights. When the turn lignal lever is in either direction the lights just light up continuisly,no blinking. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks in advance.

Hey Popatop. Thx for the diagram. I got that with the kit and I wired it just as it shows. The only thing thats happening is the lights are barely blinking but when the running lights are one the tail lights dont blink at all.

led lights front and rear don't produce enough resistance to cause the flasher to operate. You need to wire in a couple of standard bulbs to get that flasher to function.

hey rabbit. Thanks for th reply. So I need to have 2 or 4 standard bulbs just to get the flasher to work? I thought that's what the LED flasher was for? Is there no other way? I really don't want standard bulbs on th cart. Hmm.

I have yet to find an LED flasher that actually works without some form of added resistance. There are some bulbs out there on the market specifically designed to add in the needed resistance, but I doubt that your kit has those bulbs installed. Simply put, there isn't enough of a load on the system to allow the flasher to function in a straight LED setup. I suppose you could try installing a resistor in line with the turn signals, but I haven't actually tried it yet.

Hey Rabbit. Thanks for the replies. I did what you suggested and added a standard 1157 bulb to each side and presto! It worked. I painted the bulbs black and mounted them under the body out of sight. Thanks again for the assistance.
