I just ordered replacement brushes for my starter. Any tips, tricks or help on would be greatly appreciated. My brushes should be here tomorrow or thursday and hope to get them in right away
Thanks!

Ive done 4 of them Rob and they are very easy but then again very dirty inside. You shouldnt have any problem changing them out. I took mine all apart to clean everything inside.

Thanks Mike. I make sure they have a good home. No golf cart wants to have a sad life.

Any more detail is helpful. I will be replacing brushes because I have a 'dead spot' in the starter/generator. The unit is mounted with a single bolt and a tensioner? How does the cover come off?

there are long bolts that go through the starter. Take them out and it should come apart.

I'm getting set to put new brushes in mine also. While it's apart give the armature (the part the brushes rub against) a light sanding with FINE sandpaper to take the glaze off. And clean between sections (the grooves) on the armature as well.
