Default Slow to start/go

1993 Club Car (gas), when pressing on gas pedal you hear engine turn over but real slow not fast like it use to be, then it will speed up and motor will start and go. Whats the problem?

Is your starter or clutch belt slipping when you first try to take off? Mine will just sound like a slow idle when the belt slips and then sounds good once it grabs. Just remove the seat and watch the belts when you first hit the gas to see if they are slipping at all.

Check your brushes in your starter generator, that was my problem.

How does one "check" those brushes? And what would one be checking for?
